A little bit about us

Quality international education for students from all over the world

American College Dublin, Ireland, was established in 1993 as a non-profit educational trust. ACD has since been awarded full charitable status in Ireland..

The College is located on Merrion Square in three beautifully restored Georgian houses including the former home of Oscar Wilde. Additional facilities are available close to the main campus.

Our commitment to your education encompasses all aspects of your academic, personal, and professional development, with particular emphasis on excellence, education, and employment. Our objective is to provide quality international education for students from all over the world by combining the excellent traditions of the American and Irish educational systems.

The educational experience offered by ACD is unique in that students learn in a progressive, interactive way. Students take 5 subjects per semester, and are awarded 6 credits per subject successfully completed. During the semester, extensive continuous assessment is used to ensure progress is maintained. Class size is small, which allows for greater interaction between students and lecturers.

Students are encouraged to question and discuss issues, which leads to a more dynamic learning experience. Additional features of the American College Dublin experience include internships, and a range of student support services.

Message from the President

The American College Dublin was established in 1993 and during those twelve years we have seen many changes and developments. Each successive year brings a new set of opportunities and by meeting them our institution continues to grow and improve.

The student body at American College Dublin consists of individuals from all over the world who enter into a truly multicultural community. As we all know, the world is getting smaller and the cultural diversity of American College Dublin's student body helps to prepare our students for today's international workplace.

The programmes we offer are designed to encourage an eagerness to learn that will remain with our students for the rest of their lives. Our programmes have a solid academic foundation, in addition to which they have an internship requirement which provides our undergraduates with practical work experience. We believe that the education we offer at American College Dublin will equip you with the skills you will need to achieve your own individual goals.

I recommend that you read the information in this web page carefully and request that you contact one of our Admissions Counsellors who will be happy to speak with you.

American College Dublin is committed to the welfare of its students. Let our institution be the gateway to an exciting and satisfying future.
